Samuel Sedano (Burgos, Spain) is since September 2024 Stellvertreter Stimmführer of the Grazer Philharmoniker. Started playing the violin with Raquel Rodríguez and string quartet with Daniel Lorenzo. In 2018, he completed his violin studies at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid with professor Ana María Valderrama. He graduated with honors in viola from the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (Kunstuniversität Graz) in 2022 under Prof. Peter Barsony, subsequently continuing his training with Dimitrios Polisoidis.As a performer, he has appeared with Klangforum Wien at prestigious venues and festivals, including the Salzburg Festival, the Vienna Konzerthaus, and the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. He served as Principal Viola of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie performing at the Berlin Philharmonie, Frankfurt Opera, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, and the Beethovenfest Bonn. His orchestral experience also includes the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra, as well as prominent Spanish ensembles such as the Castile and León Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the Principality of Asturias, and the Basque National Orchestra (Euskadiko Orkestra). In the field of early music, his notable performances include appearances at FIAS alongside OBNI or Anacronía.
